Gallery News / 06.11.2024

We are ready to return for another free art appraisal day at Gratz Gallery & Conservation Studio on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 11 am to 5pm. We are located at 5230 Silo Hill Road, Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and the best part is parking is not a problem.

Have you uncovered a long lost treasure while spring cleaning? Curious as to whether the painting you picked up at a local flea market has any value? Are you considering selling your art collection and don’t know where to start? And of course accidents happen and the precious heirloom painting you inherited has a tear or got damaged in a basement flood?

Before you get overwhelmed and the paintings get tucked back deep into those closets, bring your fine art to Gratz Gallery & Conservation Studio so we can provide you with a free verbal value appraisal or free conservation estimate. Bring the landscape from over your couch for a fair-market appraisal; find out what’s underneath that dusty painting in your basement; bring your treasured family heirloom for a cleaning and repair estimate. Are you unsure of the origin of your artwork? Let our specialists take a look to see if we can uncover your mystery painting.

This year the event will again feature Margaret Gratz ISA AM, an accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers and longtime Gratz Gallery sales associate and our fine art specialist Paul Gratz, owner and head conservator at Gratz Gallery & Conservation Studio.

Due to the past popularity of this event, patrons are requested to limit their inquiries to two pieces per family.  The appraisers will get to all the paintings they possibly can in one day. The event will follow a first come first serve protocol, but we will make sure to have refreshments available while you wait.

The Peter Miller Collector's Catalogue is available now!
Since the early summer days of 2020, Gratz Gallery & Conservation Studio has been working on the conservation and restoration of an unearthed estate of over 220 paintings by American Modernist painter, Peter Miller, born Henrietta Myers (1913 - 1996). It is with great honor that we reintroduce this exciting collection of works into the American art market, accompanied by a first-ever published, fully illustrated monograph on the artist. With this effort, it will be possible to resuscitate the work of this highly talented and versatile artist, one who, at long last, should be accorded the recognition within the history of American modernism that she never sought, but has long deserved.
