Laurence A. Campbell is a modern painter who is known for his snow covered city scenes and landscapes, painted in his distinct Impressionist style. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1939, Campbell was known to visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art frequently throughout his youth. In college, Campbell studied architecture at Temple University, leading to the establishment of his own construction firm. While in the construction business, Campbell also worked at restoring artwork, often using his close contact with these pieces to study methodology and technicality. Eventually, Campbell established his own gallery in 1970 and continued depicting his own favored subjects, scenes of city high rises in various seasons.
