Waterfront Atlantic City
Edith Lucile Howard painted, Waterfront, Atlantic City, in the 1930s. The oil on canvas is signed at lower left: "E.L. Howard". Edith Lucile Howard was a member of the Philadelphia Ten. She attended the Philadelphia School of Design for Women (now Moore College of Art and Design) where she was influenced by the artist and instructor, Henry Bayley Snell. Howard's work has been exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the National Academy of Design and the Whitney Museum of American Art among many other institutions. Howard also painted in New York and Delaware. She died in 1960.
