Doylestown Bicentennial Art Exhibition: 'History in the Making'

This year marks the two hundred year anniversary of Doylestown as Bucks County's county seat. This historic occasion is being celebrated with a series of events throughout Doylestown. The Doylestown Bicentennial Juried Art Exhibition is opening May 23rd to June 8th, 2012 at the Gratz Gallery & Conservation Studio, 68 South Main Street in Doylestown, PA. This exhibition will feature paintings from top local artists and their interpretation of the impact on our landscape and community over the past 200 years. The theme, History in the Making, was the criteria for being selected for the show. Jurors Kerry Dunn, Tarah Murphy, and Karen Titus Smith will select the winning pieces. The first place winner will be honored with $1,000 award sponsored by Eastcom Wireless.
Come in to the gallery from May 23rd through May 31st to vote for your favorite painting for the People's Choice Award! In addition to the People's Choice award there will also be over $2,500 in additional awards and prizes. On Friday June 1st, an honorary prize will be awarded to one painting selected to hang in the Doylestown Courthouse for one year. The public is invited to view the winning entries on the evening of June 1st, First Friday, from 7 pm to 9 pm.
